Cynthia launched her fashion modeling career after moving her career to New York. An agreement for five years was signed with Wihelmina Models. She then was the face for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover for Essence was not just one of their best cover designs, but it was also Susan Taylor's personal favourite. Cynthia was set to write her second cover. This put her career on the right track. Next, she moved on into Paris and Milan. There, she made an appearance on runways during Paris Fashion Week as well as Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia moved into New York City after living abroad for nearly a year. The campaigns she worked on comprised Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Vogue editorials followed together with Glamour magazine, Elle, Essence Vanity Fair and Glamour. One of Cynthia's biggest professional highlights was when she was chosen over Naomi Campbell for a co-starring part alongside Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
